The Mission
The People of Cabaret is an organisation dedicated to amplify, platform, empower, nurture, support and uplift artists who are Indigenous and/or Bla(c)k, and/or a person of colour (IBPOC) who work in cabaret and the live performing arts sector.
We were formed by people who are IBPOC, for people who are IBPOC.
The People of Cabaret believe in equal opportunities and is committed to building and maintaining a performing arts landscape which allows us all to thrive.
We are dedicated to ensuring diversity and inclusion in the performing arts sector, by:
• Amplifying, celebrating and advocating for Artists of Colour
• Making space for, championing, nurturing and supporting Artists of Colour
• Providing a network for People of Colour to connect with and empower one another
• Elevating an industry standard by ensuring that People of Colour are paid for their time and work.
