Who are we looking for to fill in this survey?

We are looking for people who work in Cabaret, Variety, Nightlife/ Club scene and Alternative Industries. We would also like to hear from people who work in Musical Theatre if you define your performance as cabaret.

Cabaret is often hard to define, so we are wanting to hear from people who work within the live performing arts sector outside of the current unionised art forms: TV and Film, Opera, Ballet, Musicians, Commercial Theatre (unless you specifically define your Commercial Theatre work as Cabaret).

Why are we conducting this survey?

The purpose of this survey is for The People of Cabaret to understand the current climate of the industry, to help push for change and increase industry standards.

How much are we paying you to fill out the form?

We get it - time is money! That's why we are prioritising payments to people who are First Nations, Bla(c)k and/or People of Colour and paying them $100 for their time (inclusive of GST if applicable!).

Those who do not identify as First Nations, Bla(c)k and/or People of Colour will be paid something after the survey closes. If we are not able to exhaust our payments to our communities first, or if we raise more funds during this survey, we will distribute funds to everyone who has participated.
